Internal Surface Folding Analysis of Continuous Casting Tube Rounds

  • During the hot rolling of seamless steel tubes, internal surface folding (ISF) is frequently formed in Baotou Iron & Steel Co. The main factors, which caused the ISF, are analyzed using the method of step regression. Results show that the lower value of Mn/S, the higher casting overheaded level △t and pulling velocity v are the main reasons caused ISF.
