A temperature model for hot rolled plates during accelerated cooling

  • A thermal model developed by means of the finite difference method was adopted to predict the temperature distribution across the thickness of steel plates. The accuracy of this model was validated by the commercial finite element package FEMLAB. The heat transfer of hot plates was considered in this model when cooled in air, laminar water flow, and turbulent water flow. Furthermore, this model coupled the measured thermal physical parameters so as to improve its accuracy.
