Up to now, the recycling technology of common solid waste (blast furnace iron slag) in iron and steel industry has made important progress. . However, there are still stubborn solid waste problems to be dealt with urgently. For a long time, there is no effective harmless disposal method for chromium (Cr)-containing slag produced by stainless steel smelting, and the environmental potential is huge. Researchers at home and abroad have changed the occurrence state of Cr by adding reducing substances, modifying at high temperature and adjusting the cooling mode to control the dissolution of Cr6+, and then realize the detoxification of stainless steel slag. Among them, high temperature modification-crystallization control method can promote the formation and growth of Cr-containing spinel phase by adjusting steel slag composition and controlling temperature regime, and improve the enrichment degree of Cr in the spinel phase. It is expected to become the most effective and safe harmless treatment technology, and has been developed rapidly in recent years. In this paper, according to the thermodynamic mechanism and crystallization kinetics principle of high temperature modification and detoxification of stainless steel slag, the research progress of high temperature modification and detoxification of stainless steel slag is reviewed. Based on the core problem of melt modification-selective crystallization, the methods and measures to improve the detoxification effect are emphasized. In addition, aiming at the problems existing in the high temperature modification-crystallization control detoxification of stainless steel slag, the future development directions are put forward.
