Abstract
With the progressive development and extensive application of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, the mining industry, in the process of smart mine development, has started to incorporate RFID into multiple aspects, including material management, safety regulations, and production operations. This paper conducts a comprehensive and systematic review of the system architecture, operating principles, and antenna miniaturization techniques of RFID. The in - depth analysis provides a solid theoretical basis for the wider adoption of RFID in mining scenarios. Specifically, it presents a detailed and in - depth overview of the current research and application status of RFID in various mining - related fields. These include mine logistics, cable management, hoist system operations, underground inspections, personnel and equipment positioning, device monitoring, coal - rock interface detection, burden tracking, and ore tracing. Moreover, this study meticulously identifies the existing constraints and limitations, and then engages in a profound discussion of the prospective directions for future development. By tackling the key challenges faced by the mining industry, this research puts forward innovative solutions and strategies. It thus serves as an invaluable reference for promoting the digital transformation and intelligent construction of the mining industry.
