  • This paper analyzes the characteristics of methane dry reforming (DRM) and carbon dioxide methanation (MCD) reaction systems. Based on the fact that the feedstocks and products of the two reaction systems can be mutually utilized and have opposite thermal effects, it is preliminarily judged that there is a possibility of mass coupling and heat coupling between DRM and MCD reaction systems. Therefore, from the perspective of process simulation, multiple possible process coupling schemes were designed, and the coupling characteristics of the two reaction systems in different situations were analyzed, verifying the conditionality and feasibility of the coupling process scheme. The results indicate that the DRM and MCD reaction systems can achieve efficient dual coupling of quality and energy, and the coupling process has flexible adjustability, thereby achieving excellent effects in reducing natural gas consumption and saving energy consumption, and having a significant carbon dioxide reduction effect.
